Queenslanders with disability face a number of barriers to inclusion in Australian life, including:

• inequitable access to appropriate support, public goods and services;

• the additional cost of disability; and

• inadequate access to advocacy, protection and human rights.

The Disability Alliance is calling for:
• adequate personal care for people with disability to live the same lives as other Queenslanders;
• the Medical Aids Scheme be reformed to deliver Aids and Equipment in an affordable, equitable and timely manner; and
• reform of Queensland Hospitals’ patient care all policy and procedures to include people with a disability and their families.
